  1. Hello,
How do I convert a quick time (.mov) to a .mpg?
    Thanks. :-?

  2. There are a couple of ways, but here's how I do it.
get RADpower tools, and convert the mov to AVI
most likely, the audio WON'T convert, so I get a patch cable and run it from my speaker out to my line in, on the sound card.
I start up a sound capture program, like TotalRecorder, hit the record button, then start playing the mov file like normal.
replace your normal speaker connection. Trim and save the resulting WAV file.
Fire up the old TMPGenc, plug in the avi and the wav. Go to the source range settings, and adjust the audio offset until it syncs up. You will probably have to try it several times until its just right. (Just do a small section to save time, till you get it right. Then do it all)
Isn't this a big pain in the ****? Yes, it is.

You might ask, "Why don't you just use the mov2mpg plug-in for TMPGenc, it would be easier, right?"

Well, it depends...MOVs made with quicktime 5&6 (and maybe even 4) won't encode with this plug-in at all!
Plus, with this installed in my TMPGenc's, I cannot import mpg files to encode. This is something I tend to do a HELL OF A LOT more than converting .MOVs.
