  1. I just copied a few home movies from vhs to DVD using Sony vhs/dvd burner. I have fully functional dvd's now that play on dvd players, pc's and mac's. I want to edit them in imovie so I would like to create a .mov from my dvd's. I've done this before a while back and had no problems. When I try and use streamclip though it keeps telling me it can't because of "unsupported file type"

The one problem could be that my dvd burner makes a main menu by default, so the dvd doesn't just play the movie, you actually have to click the title. When I select "open dvd" it says "unsupported file type". When I select open files I select the video_ts.vob file and it just shows the menu screen of the dvd. Could I be missing a codec or am I skipping a step?

    Thanks in advance,

    streamclip: 1.9.3b2
    mac: os x 10.5.8

  3. Baldrick, thank you for the reply. I don't have a VTS_01_0.VOB file that I can see. In the Video_TS folder I have:
    VIDEO_TS.BUP (GREYED OUT)
    VIDEO_TS.IFO (GREYED OUT)
    VIDEO_TS.VOB (SELECTABLE)
    VTS_01_0.BUP (GREYED OUT)
    VTS_01.0.IFO (GREYED OUT)
    VTS_01_1.VOB (SELECTABLE)
    VTS_01_2.VOB (SELECTABLE)
    VTS_01_3.VOB (SELECTABLE)
    VTS_01_4.VOB (SELECTABLE)
    VTS_01_5.VOB (SELECTABLE)

    Thanks in advance,
