I love wacthing music and scfi videos from yahoo and youtube (and scifi.com). But Since last week I can not watch any video. I keep getting this message that my javascript is turned off and/or that my adobe flash player needs to be updated. Well I downloaded the adobe flashplayer nothing happens. I check to see if the java section is turned off in my internet options, I do not even have a java section (?). I have vista ultimate 64 bit.

    Can someone help me please.

  2. IMHO you most likely have a Virus or some sort of Malware.

Many of those turn off things like Javascript and System Restore and security updates and AntiVirus and so on.

I'm getting ready at work to wipe out a computer and reload since I suspec that it has caught something. System Restore always shows only the current day as available. I'll just copy the needed files to the server and blow it away. ad XP Pro, Then A/V and thn connect it t o the net for security updates and scan the saved folders on the server with and A/V and A/M before restoring them.

Doubt if it is a virus. I scanned my system om a regular basis and everything is working fine, except for the video part.

    1: Check and update java.
2: Check with adobe, make sure their animation plays.

3: If no go, in ie > tools > internet options > advanced tab = reset button

Note: under vista, press ctrl + alt + del and select task manager ... there will be 2 x iexplorers running ... you must kill the browser window, not the settings pane in order for ie to reset its settings.

4: Reboot ... may need to do this twice

Struck similar problem a week ago on clients system.

Tried the reset- no good. And the other one with the task manager not exactly sure what you mean, but did it anyway.I still do not see the java script option.

    I am using internet explorer.

    Any other suggestions?

Is this the wonderful Vista issue?

I found out the problem, for some reason I could not download adobe flash, so I downloaded mozilla firefox then through mozila I downloaded the adobe flash and javascript apps. I then setup both when using internet explorer and now no problems. Thank you to those that responded to my email and gave advice. TY!
