Hello I was told to try here for help. One of my DVD movies is scratched up pretty bad, where my old dvd player wont play it, but my computer will, not sure why that is. Anyways, I tried to copy the movie onto my hardrive so i could make a new DVD of it, and after googling on how to do that, i found a program, that copied it onto my hardrive. However its now a huge folder of .vob and .iso files, that im able to play with a gom player, but not sure how about getting these into one big dvd readable file, has anyone else experienced this before, and knows how to convert them into 1 file or something, or could provide some more info on what i can do with these?

    Thanks.

    Use Imgburn.

Click on Create image file from disc and make ONE iso file from your dvd.
Change to Mode->Write to burn the iso on a new DVDR.

Follow Baldrick's advice. Use Imgburn to make all the files that you copied from your original DVD into an ISO image and burn it to DVD.

Combining all the VOBs into one big media file is not a good idea if you want the DVD to be compatible with as many DVD players as posible. Some DVD players will play a limited number of media file types, but most can't make use of anything other than the standard DVD file structure. An ISO image will replicate what is needed.

Thanks it worked, but it made .mds file instead, is that still able to burn onto a dvd disc?

Also is there a way to make it a smaller file size?

If you selected Mode-> Build from the top menu or used the EZPicker "Create Image from Files and Folders" there should be an ISO file, which is what you need to burn. If you only have an .mds file you did something wrong. See https://www.videohelp.com/forum/archive/what-is-mds-file-t308429.html

I haven't ever needed to use it, but DVDShrink can make your DVD smaller. Although I think you need to use that on the source files for the ISO, not the ISO itself.

You can use the MDS file, actually it's recomended, to Write in ImgBurn.

DVD Shrink will open files, discs, and images/ISO (Ctrl+I).

You are correct. LIGHTNING UK! (IMGBurn's developer) says this in his guide "If you created the image with ImgBurn, you should be looking for a *.CUE / *.MDS file initially. If you can't locate one of those with the name you're expecting, go for whatever is left! (probably a *.ISO file)"

However, I have only ever gotten an .iso file using the EZPicker or Mode->Build. It appears to me that using the current version of ImgBurn, or the one I used more than a year ago, one must choose to create a .mds file (using the Tools menu) to get one. It isn't created by default.

In Settings-> Read you can set it to create MDS files all the time.
