I am using VirtualDub to letterbox and resize my screen capture recording from Camstudio to 1280x720 for upload to YouTube hopefully as HD.
But YouTube does not want to treat it as HD.
What compressor setting should I use?
Here is what I tried so far...
Divx 6.8.3 720HD profile rate control multipass, nth pass 3000 bitrate but got this error
Also tried ffdshow Encoder: Xvid 2 passes 2nd pass int max bitrate 2771 kbits/secvideo compression error: an unknown error occurred (may be corrupt data). (error code - 100)
but Youtube does not process it as HD
BTW... the ffdshow gives me the same error
if I use more than 95 frames of my video.video compression error: an unknown error occurred (may be corrupt data). (error code - 100)

yt prefers h264 mp4. 720p around 4-5mbps for an HD link. other codecs may need the same high bitrate.
