I have an old P3 that for the last 8 years has been running win98 because of software for audio recording that insists on this operating system. The GForce 4200ti gpu that has Vivo has never been able to capture video. About a year ago I purchased a cheap "College Street"(Toronto's silicon retail valley) TV capture card that has the Philips saa7130 chipset. It never worked either, even after weeks of messing with wdm's and codecs.
Recently, I added XP and created a dual boot system, and yes XP runs great on my 667-P3!!! What did I find burried away in the closet ... the TV capture card. Put the card in a PCI slot, connected an RF cable, loaded the Honestech software, and before rebooting clicked on the TVR icon .... LO and BEHOLD ... TVO (channel 2) live in full colour on my monitor!!! But my elation was short lived ... after rebooting... BLACK SCREEN.
I tried a composite video feed .. no luck.
I tried a composite video feed on my 4200 ti using Nvidias universal WDM drivers ... nothing.
I downloaded Christv ... same as Honestech PVR ...NO IMAGE!!
Both the TV capture card and 4200 wdm's are apparently fine in the control panel.
There are no conflicts anywhere. Any help would be greatly appreciated ...I'm not a Tech, but fairly tech-savvy.
