wmv conversion problem

Hi, I've been using CCE to convert my avi files into a playable DVD. It's been going great until I realized that I have a few wmv files that CCE doesn't support. I tried using other programs that convert files to dvd compliant mpeg2's but when I tried to convert the wmv files, it says no audio compressor found. Even when I used Virtual Dub, it has this error: "No audio decompressor could be found to decompress the source audio format (source format tag:0162)" I've downloaded Lame and AAC audio codecs but to no avail. By the way, when I use AVI codec to idenitify the codecs it says it's Windows Media Audio professional. Does anyone know what audio compressor I'm missing? thank you

You can try avidemux or maybe favc.

Thanks for the advice Baldrick. Unfortunately neither of them worked due to a lack of some audio codec. Maybe i'll just have to give up on those wmv files.. -_-

Tried windows movie maker? and export to dv-avi or a new wmv that you might be able to convert.

If I am not wrong, WMA "Pro" encoding/decoding requires Windows Media Player 11,

or the "wmfdist11.exe" package at least.

Install AviSynth. Use DirectShowSource().
