    Hi,

I am using Samsung VP DC-171 with +RW media.

Recorder formats these disks only in VR mode (not mentioned in the manual)
After shooting 7 scenes everything looks OK, the problem is when I try to author this disk.

I see only 5 VOB files in the VIDEO_TS folder.
Scenes start and stop somewhere in the middle of the files.
Till now I can not found a software which can recognise exactly where scenes start.

Shall I import all VOB in one single VOB file and then manually extract scenes?

Pls, what is the easiest way to produce a home-made DVD?

    You're confused.
You need to extract the video by its IFO data, leave the VOB files alone.

    DVD+VR is a subset of DVD-Video (unlike DVD-VR).

    First - Merry Christmas!

    Solution still not found.
DVD Decrypter found 7 chapters (and 3 cells?) in IFO mode but reading errors appeared at 99%. Seems like damaged disk, but I do not believe in that.

Sorry, should be posted in newby section.

Try a better DVD drive to read the disc. Try ISO Puzzle to read the ISO. Then load the ISO via DaemonTools, then do the Decrypter thing from that volume to get at the video from the IFO level.

Strangely the second disk was read (DVD Decrypter) with almost no errors. (plenty of: Sector xxxxxxxx- Pack Header Not Found (0x00000000))

But chapter info seems to be lost - it ended with one big VTS_01_1.VOB file.
How I can preserve chapters for future editing?
Shall this work: Options - IFO Mode - Create additional files - Chapter information xxx ?

    tks.
