Ok here is an odd question. I am using a dvd recorder and a vcr on an older tv that only has a coax (rf) input. I route the cable input to the dvd recorder than to the vcr and out to the tv. I also use the rca out on the dvd recorder to the vcr input so that I can watch the dvd recorder THROUGH the vcr on channel 3 on the tv.
The rf output on the back of the liteon dvd recorder (1107 model) specifically says dvd playback is not outputted through the rf output.
My question is:
Are there any dvd/vhs player OR recorder combos that allow dvd playback through the rf jack outputs?
My hypothetical price range for this gadget would be 100.00. I'm not committed to buying right away. I would just like to know if the beast exists. My reason for asking is it would simplify things greatly if I could just have one rf input (ie the analog cable jack) and then feed that output to the tv. Then I could simply watch and play dvds and vhs tapes through the same device without routing one into another.
My current setup works however my channel 4 (a local nbc affiliate) has terrible ghosting on the tv when both the vcr and dvd recorder are off. However when watched through the vcr or dvd recorder the channel is virtually normal. Most of my other channels have cleared up since reverting to this configuration unlike when I split it multiple ways for recording on my pcs.
So if this procedure is possible I'd be interested in model numbers and price ranges. Please note a dvd harddrive recorder is not required. Especially since I understand US availablity of such hdd dvd recorders is virtually nill without online ordering (then there would be potential pal-ntsc for foreign purchased units - not to mention insane shipping costs for bulky player/recorder devices).
Again this is not an immediate need. Just a curiosity.
EDIT - also please note a tuner would be a must have in this device. If its an older model analog is fine as I'd be using analog cable on this device. I would not need to introduce an atsc converter box for this just yet - until analog cable is completely switched off that is. But internal tuner is a must be it analog or atsc.
(I know I would be much better off by buying a new tv. However that is not in the cards right now).

Donatello - The Shredder? Michelangelo - Maybe all that hardware is for making coleslaw?

@jagabo - thanks for the link.
I do know about those. I did have one for awhile but it finally died. It is still more "junk" in the way.
I'd prefer a way to get it self contained in the dvd recorder combo unit itself. Than I could just turn it on and deal with one device.
Suggestions are welcome.Donatello - The Shredder? Michelangelo - Maybe all that hardware is for making coleslaw?
