  1. Hello all,

I am looking for an All Region DVS/VHS player, that will play any region DVD and any region VHS tape. And also has the ability to transfer the VHS tapes to DVD.

Does such a player exist? I don't need the ability to record shows from TV or have a DVR function. Just an all region player of DVD/VHS and the ability to record those VHS to DVD.

    Anything?

    Thanks!

    Nope.
There are very expensive VHS player/recorders that can handle PAL and NTSC VHS tapes....but I've never seen a combo unit that will do what you want. Combo units are junk anyway.

What you'll need is a multi-system VHS player like this one feeding an NTSC or PAL DVD recorder.

Also don't confuse this VCR with the cheap $50 "multi-system" VCR's that can be purchased. The above expensive VCR is a "converting" VCR(it can convert between PAL and NTSC). All European VCRs are "multi-system" and very inexpensive but will not work in the USA without an additional external converter.

@ the original poster - you'll get this suggestion soon enough so I'll go ahead make the suggestion:

If you only have a handful of tapes to convert send them to a professional service. That will be far far easier and most likely cheaper than doing it yourself. You should get much better results than doing it yourself. And unless you have a tbc you'll probably won't get adequate results anyway even if you got a vcr that plays it properly (though your mileage may vary).
