I've been trying to take two avi files which play fine in Media Player (the the volume is a little low) and combine them into a single dvd mpg file using TMPGEnc Xpress & DVD Author.

The problem is, neither program will render the dvd (or mpg file on my computer) with sound. The audio is just white noise.

Does anyone have ANY idea why this is happening, and how I can correct it?

    Thank you,

    Hal

Run them through Avi_Gain_Soopa_Loud.bat (see link below) . Play the resulting files and see if you get much louder AVIs. If it is louder, feed these resulting files to TmpgencXpress and make sure you turn off any audio effects settings you may have used in your previous encoding attempt.

I can only guess that either your source files are messed up or Tmpgenc isn't set up correctly. Try my suggested method above. It might work, it might not.

Provide a gspot screen capture of one of the AVIs if you want more people to chime in.

What codecs are used for these files?
Do you hear the noise also in your standalone?

DTS sound often comes up as noise in PC, because of missing codec.

(but Pegasys Apps donīt make DTS, I guess)
