I have been having a slight bit of trouble with 1080p. I have an NVIDIA 8800GT video card and an intel core duo 2.00 GHz processor. the CPU usage is only about 50-60% when the video is playing so I'm not sure what the problem is. I've tried both VLC and Media Player Classic. It works much better in classic but still not quite right

  2. Try MPCHC and enable the DXVA option. View -> Options -> Internal Filters -> Transform Filters -> H264/AVC (DXVA). Enable it and double click on it to bring up more options -> Enable DXVA. Be sure to set the Decoding Thread Number to 2 (for a dual core system).

K that seems to have fixed it for the most part.

my only problem now is that I'm watching batman begins (it's an 8 gig wmv file) and just as the movie is beginning it stutters a lot (audio and video). When that's over, the audio and video are about a second and a half out of sync for the rest of the movie. It works fine if I skip that part, but I'm a perfectionist

any suggestions? maybe it's just a messed up file and not my computer?

  4. It might be that the decoding is still too much for your computer in that early section. Since it's a WMV file try enabling the VC1 DXVA option in MPCHC. Or it could just be a corrupt file.
