  1. My vcd's are very chopy. Could it be I convert it to the wrong fps?does my dvd ony play a certain fps?Do you have to convert it at it to the same as the avi. I tried that and it still plays really chopy.Can any one help.

  2. we need more info. Open your file with vitualdub and choose file information. Tell us the source file's fps. Also tell us what region you are making the vcd for (NTSC or PAL).

  3. I have the same problem.. I'm covertting an AVI file that has 20.0 fps. for a USA standard VCD. The result is a chopy picture. I tried changing the fps with virtral dub to 23.9 fps but then the picture becomes blocky. I don't know what to do. The vcd almost looks as it's being transmitted via a webcam. But the audio is in sync. I'm convinced that it has to do with the fps of the file because i haven't resulted with any problems like this with any other file with a higher rate.

    When you convert 20 fps to 23.976 fps, almost 4 fps will be added. That's not Godsend, but these 4 frames will get duplicated, 4 frames, every second. Of course the result is choppy playback. You should capture at a proper framerate next time.
