  1. I got some video footage that I need to edit, I recieved 3 separate mpeg2 files. When I preview the files in VLC player, the footage is ok.

However, the 3rd file acts weird, when I import it in Premiere, audio works for the first third of the clip only. Then it goes mute.

When I drag the footage to the timeline, the whole audio clip shows the flatline and I dont get any audio at all.

What could be the problem, and what are my options for fixing this?

Try extract the audio from the mpg with tsmuxer(choose demux) and import the audio in premiere. If still silence try convert it to wav with audacity.

  3. Hm, I7ve already looked into that, but what about working on the footage with split audio and video?

I have a lot of cuts to make at the specific time, if I start splitting the footage in the timeline, all those time marks I've written down during the filming wont be valid anymore.

Editing from source monitor is way more convinient, is there a way of making Premiere treat separated audio and video like one footage?

I've just went into Sountbooth and opened the mpeg file, the entire audio appeared, I exported it as separate mono channels. Could I link it to video footage and edit those two in the source monitor somehow?
