I have .avi video with no sound.
The sound for that video is a separate file with .aifc extension.
How do I fuse those two together, ideally that it plays without a problem on a dvd player?

Find something that can convert AIFC/AIFF to MP3. Use 48 Khz and constant bit rate for the MP3 - 224 Kbps is good. Use VirtualDubMod to add the new MP3 file and do "direct stream copy" so it doesn't re-encode but just adds the new MP3 file to the AVI container. It should play OK and also not have sync problems.

foobar2000 can convert .AIFF to other audio types like .mp3, but I am unfamiliar with .AIFC (I gather it's very similar?)
Just wanted to add, your DVD player must be DivX compatible (and your video must be XviD or DivX with compatible standalone specs) for jman98's suggestion to work. Otherwise, you have to convert to DVD- Video. -
Go to File>Save As> and save a new.avi............
