screensize rendering sony vegas

Hi, i have some original sized widescreen (16:9) PAL videoshoots. I want to render these in a stream windows media format (512 kb or so), to be opened with media player.
I use Sony Vegas for my edits. How do i have to set my render-specifications, to get a widescreen playing windows media player? No matter what i try i get the same square screen with letterbox.

Resize to a 16:9 resolution size like 640x360, 320x180, etc.

You can set your project properties with File -> Project Properties, and your render specs by using the Custom button on the Render dialogue after you have selected your basic container details. For more specific details consult the help files.
