I know this is not an audio forum, but I would think this is a simple question, yet I have not found an answer. I use WINAMP, the latest version. When I go to file and then play file folder, the mp3's do not play in the order of the album/cd. In other words it will start out at mp3 # 12 instead of #1 etc... Thanks for any help.

It's probably playing the files in the order they're actually in, within the directory. Explorer won't normally show this to you.

You can try creating a directory, then copying the files one by one to the new directory in the correct order, then seeing if Winamp plays that folder in the order you want.

Or create a playlist, instead of pointing Winamp at the folder.

A third alternative is to find a folder-sorting utility, such as "Folder Sort" (the homepage for that one is long gone, though it still seems to work on XP and Vista), and use it on the folder in question, then see if Winamp plays everything the way you want.

You must tell Winamp to sort the list by filename, by title, or by path+filename.
I use the version 5.34 with the classic skin, and I just have to click the button "Misc",
then choose the option "Sort List". HTH.

ARRGGHHH!!!!@@!! , You two can kick me in the ASS! I would if I could!!

After creating a new folder and moving some files one by one and testing that folder I had the same results. I then searched for the "MISC" setting upon changing to classic view and still no go. I searched and tested around a little more till I noticed that shuffle was checked under the play menu, and that fixed it. I new it had to be something simple, got frustrated and decided to post. Thanks for the responses and soon as I'm able to kick myself I will
