  1. Adding subtitle to VCD

    Good Evening,
I am new at this. I am trying to rip a DVD to VCD and wondering if there is any way to add the subtitle on the new VCD. I would like to have the subtitle permanently show up on the VCD. The process I am using to convert DVD to VCD is -

    Smart Ripper
    DVD2AVI
    TMPGEnc

I am not sure what I need to look for to convert to VCD with subtitle.

    Thanks
    :( A

  2. hey...u just need to add some steps and programs in between the dvd2avi and tmpgenc stages.

after u created .d2v file from dvd2avi, use vfapi-encoder to turn the .d2v into a .avi file.

now load the .avi file in virtual dub. you should also get the vobsub filter for virtual dub. the virtual dub/vob sub combo should allow you to add subs.

all that's left is to frameserve to tmpgenc throu virtual dub.

i'm sure someone else here will clarify the details.

  3. hey, amitlibby! I find out that DVDx can replace DVD2AVI and TMPGEnc and give us the option to select the language and any subtitle on the DVD! We can save a lot of step! But the thing right now is I can't get the audio and video syn correctly!

LOL, "DVDx can replace DVD2AVI and TMPGEnc", but the MPEG is out of sync.
Have a look at this vobsub guide.[/url]

  5. There is no need to change!

    8) 1- Download DVDx v1.7
2- In "Settings", "Input Settings" choose Audio / Video sync
3- If you get Audio / Vídeo Sync then the problem is with your SVCD player or with TMPGenc settings. Remember: Set VBV Buffer size to 112!

    Enjoy

  6. What does DVDx anything to do with TMPGenc setting? If you use DVDx you don't need TMPGenc!?
Also, Truman. I don't see vobsub guide connect to DVDx? Explain please!

    Thankyou
