I'd like to take my 1440x1080 16:9 .mts files and deinterlace them to 960x540 60fps, so how would I go about modifying the batch script for the AVCHD anything to accomplish this?
What compression formats can actually support 60fps?

Sorry if this is a repeated topic, I did a quick scan on search and didn't find much.

I'll keep hammering at this until I find something that works reasonably well.

I've tested this before, and there's something up with the PAFF hybrid interlacing on AVCHD which makes 60fps not work quite right. I'll post an example in a few minutes.

Pretty much all the containers and all the codecs.

Get a recent ffdshow for h.264 with PAFF and MBAFF decoding. Or CoreAVC Pro.

I'd use AviSynth and bob deinterlace with TDeint(mode=1) or Yadif(mode=1) followed by a LanczosResize().

Here's an example of the problem with PAFF AVCHD

  5. Your field order was backwards? No, you're right, it's something weird. I'll take a look later today. I have that sample MTS file sitting around somewhere.

Much better by adding an AssumeTFF() but some strange artifacts. I'll try a different deinterlacer. Thanks, jagabo.

  7. I just ran a quick test with AssumeTFF() and Yadif(mode=1, order=1). The results looked pretty good but I'm having some other problem with DirectShowSource() and that MTS file right now (intermittent jerks).

I saw the strange wavey artifacts in your encode. I think that was an encoding error. I didn't see anything like it in my quick Xvid AVI.
