On my WinXP PC I capture MPEG-2 footage with my ATI AIW, mux for SVCD-compliance with TMPEG, and burn with Nero 5.5.6.4. It works great, however: I can't preview the capture file with TMPEG, Nero, the ATI AIW software, Windows Media Player, etc.
Nero *will* show me the video when I'm choosing the picture to be used as a thumbnail (select MPG in Nero, press Alt+Enter, select the Menu tab). Also, I *can* play the video with M2-Edit.
When I try to view it with the ATI AIW software, or with Windows Media Player, the video is garbled, with thick bands of color displaying diagonally across the screen.
Is this a codec problem? If so, why can some programs display it but not others? Why does Nero crash when I select the video and click the Play button?
