I think there is a problem with the new version as all my svcds are getting reencoded, PAL(480x576) and NTSC(480x480) file are affected.

According to the change log SVCDs should not be affected

    - ADDED: Re-encoding of non compliant mpegs to DVD specs - apart from SVCDs.

    Hi,

    I have a similar issue.

My assets are mpg2 compliant. But when trying to author to dvd using svcd2dvd, it will always reencode them to new files with _s2d.mpg extension. This never happens if I use Tmpgenc Dvd Author 1.6 - it will take my mpg files just fine without reencoding.

Is there a switch or anything I could do to avoid this "re-encode" stage?

    Thanks in advance.

    Thanks for the prompt reply.

When I try to do it the next time, I will capture the log file and post it.

    Later.

Thanks and here it is... but the file is too big, I have to make it into 2 parts. The first part is attached here and the second part will follow.

  12. Your files are not being re-encoded, only de/remuxed to be (more) DVD compliant for authoring. Nothing wrong there, that's how it's supposed to work.

Forgive me for I still don't understand why it needs to de/remux my files to be (more) DVD compliant. As TDA would take them just fine without issues. Secondly, the quality of the reencoded results are definitely blockier.

    Nonetheless, I appreciate the effort.

Also, I sincerely wish that you can consider this (a switch to skip re-encode) as a suggestion for future feature.

    Best regards.
