Hi all, this is my 1st post Okay here goes: I have a Concert On DVD and would like to back it up to VCD but when i rip the vob files and use "dvd2avi version 1.76" I always get a large file (too large for a single 80 min cdr).
Information You Might Need To Know:

    1. Picture Format = PAL 4:3
    2. Concert Duration = 88 mins
    ----------

What I would like to know is:

    1. Can I use Any Settings To Make The File Small Enough To Fit On A Single 80 min CDR Even If It Means Losing A Little Quality ?

    2. Are There Any Charts Online That Will Tell Me The Best Method To Use With Certain DVD Duration?
    ----------

Any Help Greatly Appreciated, Thx In Advance

P.S. I have tried countless online guides with no avail

  2. if you dont want to violate the standard try 90/99min media. otherwise, a bitrate calculator is all you need

If it doesn't need to be a disc to strict standards, use one of Sefy' SxVCD or SeVCD templates. They'll get approximately 95 minutes on a disc. You may have to trim out the credits or something...

  5. TheEverLiving, you can find my Templates on the Tools section in VCDhelp, or more updated ones on Pinoy's homepage, as for compatibility, I doubt a VCD Standalone will accept them, it "might" work with SeVCD, but defenetly not with SxVCD.

If you are using a DVD Standalone, i suggest you try with a CDRW media.
