  1. My new PC came with an 'OEM' (= pester regularly for upgrade) version of Cyberlink's Power DVD. On my old PC I had version 5 which allowed me to click in the 'slider bar' to jump to that section of a DVD. Am I right that that's no longer a facility in version 7 please?

    ---------
    LATER:
It seems that this issue only arises when I play the DVD by opening its IFO, when I get a window titled 'DVD Auto-Resume' containing the message:
"This DVD title's playback was interrupted before completion. Where
would you like to start playback?
    - Play DVD title from the beginning
    - Resume playback from the last scene"

If instead I open the VOB, the click-in-slider-bar feature works OK.

BTW, I tried to send this as a reply to my own post, which IMO would be more logical, but it failed. I read "Please try not to bump your topic(reply to your own topic) immediately, wait at least a few days." That seems an odd rule IMO. I'd have thought it made sense to clarify your own post, or add more information, or even report it sorted, as soon as possible? Editing the original is an OK alternative, but how long does that remain possible?

You can always use a mouse wheel to advance your video in powerdvd.

And sorry bumping is generally looked down upon on this website. If someone doesn't respond in at least several days than you might consider it. Just be patient and somebody will try to help.

  3. Thanks but mouse wheel appears to have no effect here.

As for 'bumping', I don't think you read my post properly. Rather than being impatient, I think it's considerate to tell people asap that, for example, a problem has been fixed, to minimise the risk of others wasting their time.

Oh sorry if I misinterperted it. What you can do instead is edit the title of your post so that you can say 'solved' if you figured it out on your own. Or change the title to suit your current issue.

The click-slider in Version 7 works fine for me whatever way the dvd starts or resumes.

I have a few commercial disks where it does not work (the exception) but I put this down to how they were authored rather than a fault on the player.

  6. I have no issue with PowerDvd 7. The click slider works for me.

He may have the castrated OEM version like what came on my Dell. So crappy and difficult to live with, I uninstalled it and use Media Player Classic - much easier.
