I have a DVD which is home movies, so there is no copy protection issues with the DVD itself.

The problem is the audio is too low, so I want to demux the audio files from the DVD, process them to increase the volume, and then integrate them back to the DVD and reburn it.

I have a program for increasing or normalzing audio files, so that is no issue for me.

My question is, what software/utility is out there that will allow me to extract just the audio stream, and also add it back in once I am done modifying the audio files so I can re create the DVD.

If it matters, the audio files are AC3

    Thanks.

Use pgcdemux to demultiplex the video and audio files.
    Edit the ac3 file.
Add back the original video and thew new audio using muxman.
Add back the menus using vobblanker.

Thanks for the response. I will go have a look at these utilities.

What I can also tell you (since my original post) is that I was able to demux the AC3 files out using DVDDecrypter. Another thing I want to mention, is that I do NOT need to modify the menu audio (it is fine). I only need to modify the main movie section audio.

That being said, is there not some simply utility for REMUXing VOB files as easy as it is to demux them? If there is, and I am able to recombine the video section and audio section of the VOB file, can I then just simply reburn EVERYTHING back to a blank DVD?

What I am getting at, is if nothing at all is changing other than the audio level (no time change, no file change) do I need to mess around with manually adding the menus and hooking chapters back up?

    Thanks!

No, you don't have to manually remake the menus. In vobblanker you load the old movie and just load the new created vobs from muxman and make a new dvd. Watch the guide!
