    Hi
    i have got sony vegas pro 8.0, i try to import my videos into sony vegas then to find there is no sound.
    I have tried a video converter which proved unsuccsesful (prism video converter)

    PLEASE give us the details of your source file. What container, video and audio codec? Identify with mediainfo.

    I also have had a problem with after ripping 5 vobs from one of my home movies from my DVD disc.

    I imported each vob into Vegas 8 and 4 being 900mb,took about 3 mins to go into the media import box. I then dragged as normal into the frame line each of the vobs only to find some had no sound.
    I them saved the whole project.... shutdown Vegas 8 ..and then reopened Vegas 8 and the vobs in the timeline as saved played with sound..... strange to say the least.

    As it was a one off project I managed to render all the vobs as one mpeg 2 file and after shutting down Vegas again ..I restarted Vegas again and put the rendered file into the timeline and worked from that ok.

    it says the video codec is mpeg video
    It says the audio codec is ac-3

    what is the source of the video? vegas pro 8 imports dvd spec mpeg-2 with ac-3 without a problem. use gspot on your video and post a screenshot.
