I have a VHS video tape that I am capturing thruough a canopus ADVC110. The tape is a good quality original but when I play the captured .avi file the sound is very faint. Is there a way that I can split the sound from the .avi file and enhance it before putting it back together.
I'm using premier pro 1.5.
Thanks in anticipation.

Premiere Pro should have some filters that will allow you to boost the volume before you output, so save you demuxing and remuxing. Or you can open the file in Virtualdub, set Audio to Full processing and then boost the audio. Keep video as Direct Stream Copy and set the audio compression to PCM and you can save a new, louder version of the file.
