I tried to convert my 699mo DivX (.avi) to with the "DivX to VCD All-In-One Guide " from this web site.
All except one thing was ok : "Why does my final FILE (.mpg) is so big (~950mo). I used 44100Hz, (NTSCFilm).mcf, .... like they say in this Guide !
My original movie file was 576x320 DivX 4, converted my audio in .wav file like in the Guide...
So, why ? 950mo ?
Thx

it's normal for the final mpg to be bigger... divx is more compressed than mpg (mpg is not made for file sharing over the net where as divx is...)

I know but this guide said that 80min (700mo ???) DivX should be ok for on VCD Cd ? no ?
For SVCD, i'm ready to put them on 2 cds, but not for VCD ?
help plz ??? -
one VCD equals 74-80 mins of video and audio, Period. Doesn't matter how big or small the source file is, especially because you must use Constant Bit rate and you are not alowed to change many of the encoding options when making a vcd. A divx will fit on one cd-rom if you don't convert it and don't mind watching it on your computer.
