From this point while I was away.. I have encountered video files that is over 200MB (297MB to be exact) in size.
Which has a very good quality.. Can this be possible with .avi (xvid)?
Because the file type is Matroska (.mkv)

I will edit this post to add the "Media Info"

If anyone knows how to achieve this.. Please share or make a long/short tutorial. It will be greatly appreciated by anyone whoever comes by it.

You currently haven't stated the running time of this video.
(Personally, I have a 1 minute HD video which is 60MB - excellent quality it is too).

Your post topic says "retains the original quality".....that is IMPOSSIBLE. You can make some very nice looking video(compared to the original) with H264/X264.

  4. MKV and AVI are containers. You can put video encoded with the same codecs in either container. So yes, you can have the same quality and file size with MKV and AVI.

But if you need to use Xvid, and your MKV file uses a better codec like x264, then no, you can't have the same quality at the same size.

Here's a question for you.. Since you aren't helping much.
Do you know the main reason why I want or why people want low file size movies?

At any rate.. I have the media info now..
    Here it is! (Check attachment)

Hech54 was alluding to the fact that discussing downloading copyrighted material is generally not allowed here. Personally I don't care. If you want similar results use an h.264 encoder. Xvid (MPEG 4 Part 2, ASP) cannot compress as well as h.264 (MPEG 4 part 10, AVC).
