My Dad's Vostro laptop was supposed to come with Roxio 5 easy but it wasn't loaded.
Presently not at home and want to download a free program that will write divx avi files to dvd.
Any suggestions on a simple piece of software. I will eventually load Nero 6 which I have at home so want something small.

Friends don't let friends use Roxio, so no loss there.
ImgBurn is free and it just works. More reliably than Nero in fact. To write data discs with AVI files on them, use ImgBurn in "Build" mode. Do note that for playback on many DVD players that support Divx that the discs should be burned in ISO or ISO+Joliet mode and you should avoid any of the UDF modes. -
Thanks worked fine. Set it to build mode but noticed just prior to burn it indicated it was iso and then something about UDF which you suggested I avoid
