  1. Just received a lovely little UA302 USB to 3.5mm Jack Audio Adapter ,bought for a spot of headphone/microphone use.
All very plug and play ,auto configured itself correctly in sound devices(control panel),and yet although headphone playback is fine,i can't hear any microphone sound.
Mike is not muted, and i can hear hiss,so it wants to work!
Same on my 2 different mikes, and the control panel sound test records no voice.
What do i need to tweak please?

Can't record nor amplify anything, mikes are dead.
The driver the device is using is Microsoft 5.1.2600.2180 (01.07.2001 ),could this be it ,anyone know of a newer/better alternative?

I would try it on another PC. If it works, then you know the problem exists on your PC.

Why do you need an adapter? Are you saying that you have a USB microphone and you are converting it to 1/8 mini-jack? If so, why not just use it as a USB device? I'd be suspicious of the converter and whether or not Windows is properly identifying and can properly communicate with the device.
