Using ffmepx to try to encode a blu-ray disc that was converted to an .avi file with 5.1 audio, and include a .srt file, so I can burn to DVD using Toast. Having a hard time. Also tried with another .mkv file, also wanted to include subs. Got basically the same error with both:

Can someone help? I used to be able to do this fine with ffmpegx, but haven't tried in a long time. Either help me fix ffmpegx or suggest an alternative??? Normally want to preserve audio and add subtitle option.
You are in breach of the forum rules and are being issued with a formal warning. 'Control' and 'No Country for Old Men' have not been released to DVD.

Ran upstairs, updated the mpeg2enc.intel on my MacBook (which is still running v0.0.9x), and now it seems to be working just fine!! Weird!
Guess I get to go reinstall the older version on the iMac unless someone knows what's going on with it!
Thanks a million, Case!!"Damaged people are dangerous, they know they can survive."

The DVD mpeg2enc preset defaults to "Decode with Quicktime". This only works if QuickTime can in fact decode the source file. A default QuickTime installation may not be able to decode every advanced scheme used for XviD video.
So, my guess is that there is a difference in 3rd party components for QuickTime on these machines. Maybe one has DivX/XviD/3ivX/Perian installed and the other not?
