How do I make a menu?

I played a store-bought DVD of The Jazz Singer and it had some extras along with the movie. When you loaded the DVD, a still picture came up and it had various options...you could just watch the movie or you could view any of the other features that came with the DVD; you just placed the cursor of your remote control on the option of your choice.

My question is, how do I make one of these? Is this feature available on Sony Vegas or the various Adobe Premiere NLE programs?

You use a DVD Authoring software. Sony Vegas is usually bundled with DVD Architect and Adobe Premiere with Adobe Encore DVD or see our Tools list under Authoring(DVD).

Nope. Vegas and Premiere are editors, not authoring apps. Vegas ships with DVD Architect, which authors DVD. Adobe has Encore. Personally don't like either of them much.

If you just need simple, try the free GUIForDVDAuthor or DVD Styler.
