  1. I can't seem to figure out how to make a simple menu for existing vobs. I have 4 episodes and I can't seem to get more than one button into the menu maker. I remember this as being easy to do but apparently something has been changed. Any help?

edit: I got it. I keep forgetting to kill the option to combine sequentials into one title set. Got to make it default before I forget again.

edit2: guess I can't remember because there seems to be no way to disable the behavior. If I have x1 x2 x3 they become one movie no matter what unless I name them something else.
I think I've forgotten that about 50 times and it drives me nuts.

  2. Put them in individual VTS's (right click the 'New Movie' button on the left and 'Add VTS'). Each VTS gets its own button.

  3. I tried that and only the last one got a button. Must've done it wrong. Anyway, renaming seems to work the best. Just hit autolayout and it does it for me with button names. I just have to remember to do it before loading the assets. Counter-intuitive which is why I keep forgetting I guess. Anyway, this app is the only one I know that you can make a quickie menu without reencoding.

Ok, just to clarify, do I have assets in the list when I do this? Load all assets first? One at a time or?

  5. Create as many VTS's as you want buttons for, then load the individual assets into each corresponding VTS. Name them appropriately and you should get individual buttons for each. Always works for me.

I don't think you need them in the list, just make sure to load them properly to each VTS before going to the menu.

If that's not clear or not what you're aksing, hit me again...

  6. Thanks for the reply. I messed around with it a bit yesterday and got it right. I was hung up on using AutoLayout since that's how I always did it before. If I drag each vob set onto the white panel while each movie is highlighted then it works as expected.

I still think it would be a neat tool to break out the menu tool as a separate beast. A few tweaks to make it fully automated then let the user change the button names before hitting a Go button. I don't think I've seen an easy tool out there for adding a menu to an existing VIDEO_TS. If it could be done without reprocessing the vobs, I think it could be a good utility. I know I'd pay like $5 or $7.50 for it.

As example, for some things you just so happen to have a video file and an audio and it's easy to pull them into DVDAuthorGUI but using the menu mechanism with that is kind of a pain. If I could author with no menu and just run through the menu tool, selecting a button name for each title, that would be way cool!! Just my $.02
