There's several clips I want to slow down for a more dramatic feel, I know in wmm it was an effect, I cant seem to find anything in Vegas to instruct me me how to do this. Do I need to buy this effect?

Or add a velocity envelope and you can vary the speed as you need to using points

Yeah how do you do that? For instance I'm editing a surf video, and there was a part where he does a kick back I wanted to slow down then regular speed to the next big air trick. I ended up cutting 3-4 clips just so I could slow down those two parts. This would make a huge difference.

Right-click on your video track & add a velocity envelope, as guns1inger advised. The default velocity (100%) is normal speed....set points (@ 100%) before & after the sequence you want to slow down, then add 2 more points "inside" the first 2...drag the inside points down to the desired slo-mo speed. The idea is to have "normal", 100% velocity before & after the slo-mo part. Good luck.

So you have Vegas Movie Studio 8. OK then, you probably don't get velocity envelopes. I really wish Sony hadn't changed the names.

    This is Sony's response:

    Hello,

Thank you for contacting Sony Creative Software. Velocity envelopes are only a part of the pro version of Vegas Pro 8.

However, we are always open to your input and your suggestions. Please feel free to send a product suggestion request at the following link -- it goes directly to the development team: http://www.sonymediasoftware.com/support/productsuggestion.asp
