    Hi,

I am needing some advise as to the best possible solution to connect my existing pc and tv. I know neither are very good but sometimes you just have to make do with what you do have

The items I am looking to connect are: -

I have an old CRT TV - Loewe Aventos 100hz which has only Euro A/V Scart connections

    Dell Dimension 5150 desktop
    Intel(R) Pentium(R) D 915 with Dual Core Processing
    XP Home Edition SP2
    2GB (4X512) NECC Dual Channel DDR2 533MHz SDRAM Memory
    500GB HD
    Standard Graphics Card

I would like to be able to watch movies (mainly .AVI, .mkv, DVD, mp4 etc) and listen to music.

I also have SD set top box/DVD/5.1CH Receiver. The DVD/set top box are connected to TV using A/v Scart cables. Both are then connected to Receiver with optical cables.

As previously stated I know that I do not have a good set up but would like to maximise what I do have.

Would very much appreciate anyones input into a cost effective solution to my senario.

    Cheers,

6150 SE seems to be a mobo chipset. What video outputs are offered?

    edDV,

You are correct, the 6150 SE is a mod chip and does not offer any outputs

SO I guess I will need a graphics card with outputs and some kind of cable that will connect to SCART!!.

    Any ideas

Newer cards offer DVI-I (includes DVI-D and VGA pins), S-Video and often analog component YPbPr. I'll let others suggest connecting to SCART. Adapters exist.
