Will recording parts of a video externally using a camera is considered copyright infringement?
I would like to use parts of other people's videos and I would like to know if externally recording the video using a camcorder or CamStudio while also including parts of the website will be considered copyright infringement or will it require consent from the original author.
Please note that even if I need to also capture sound, the videos do not contain music but only speech.
This is how a snapshot of a video should look like:

Using a camcorder or screen recorder doesn't make any difference in the analysis of fair use. Crude copies can be infringement just the same as perfect copies.
