    Hello folks,

I own a laptop, an IBM thinkpad with an ATI Mobilty FireGL V3200 graphic-card. I have lot of avi files whom I want to watch on my fatscreen without burning onto a DVD. The computer is equipped with S-VHS and VGA of course, while the TV is equipped with S-VHS, RGB via Scart. What is the easiest way to install the computer to the TV so I can transfer the image?

The laptop has to play out to the tv somehow. My HP laptops have s-video output (one uses nVidia something, one uses ATI Mobility x900), and both look great. There's nothing to "install". I do dualview, so I can still look at the laptop screen, and the tv is a second monitor.

    Thanks mate,

As a newbie, the only thing I have to do is to plug in the S-VHS cable into the laptop and the TV, and then put the TV on the S-VHS channel?

"S-VHS" is a tape format (Super VHS).
"s-video" is a wire standard (separated video).

Plug the s-video into the computer output, and into the tv input.
Tell your computer to display out onto tv if it doesn't do it automatically.
Read the manual if you don't know how. Neither do I, mine is probably different than yours.

    What's a "fatscreen"? An extra-wide TV?

A fatscreen is a 28" widescreen-TV from Panasonic, 1996. It only has s-video and RGB.
