I have a DVD saved to hardisk that id like to burn successfully and haven't gotten there yet.
Every time I burn it and play it in my standalone, the video fast forwards while the audio stays in queue setting the dvd out of sync from the very beginning. it happens from any track and the DVD works fine in my laptop. The standalone is a JVC-C50 and says that it supports the file-type MPEG-1. Any advice on how to burn successfully would be appreciated.

    thanks and happy holidays!

mpeg-1 is vcd. normally burned to cd. what format and size is the movie on your hard drive. you might want to try gspot to get info on it if you don't know.

there seems to be no one else with the same problem who downloaded the DVDs. I'm almost certain the problem is with my standalone. I'm definitely no whiz at this stuff at all but I'd like to try and burn these things before I need to take them off my hardrive

ok. the thing that jumps out right away is that .shn is NOT an allowed audio format. so the sync problem probably originates there. you will need to demux it and convert from .shn to dd ac3 preferably. pcm wave is also ok. but it has to have at least one of them.

well the shn was just in the original audio form of the concert. the author of the DVD (who put the audio and video together) converted it and those specifics are listed in the audio attributes

In the video_TS folder the only items listed are .VOB or .BUP files (aside from 2 IFO files)

mp2 is still not one of the required audio formats for ntsc dvd, it's only allowed as a second audio format. converting to dd ac3 might help.

it's not a problem with some players, but others stick closer to the specs than others.
