I have a h264 encoded .mp4 file that is about 20 minutes long. At the 13 minute mark there is a sort of stutter or hiccup and for the rest of the video the sound is about 1 second behind the video. How can I snyc the audio with the video for just the last 7 minutes? Thanks.

Generally, you would have to split the file into two parts and correct the sync error, then join them back together. That's a short enough file that I might convert it to a lossless format first, do your editing/sync correction, then re-join, then re-encode to H.264.

H.264 is not editor friendly and you would have to cut it at a keyframe or you will have worse sync problems. Highly compressed formats tend to have widely spaced keyframes. Easier, IMO, to convert to lossless like Lagarith or HuffyUV then re-encode after the repair.

But others may have better advice.

Ok. I just converted my Video to xvid with fantastic results. What is the best way to go about fixing this now that it is a more edit friendly format. Thanks
