I have a commercial DVD which on play throws up a language selection menu, and then starts the movie with the selected sub. There is a root menu present, but this doesn't load automatically at startup. I never want the subs, so I'd like to change it to load the root menu at startup. It seems I have successfully disabled the loading of company logos, copyright warnings, etc. but I can't for the life of me find any way of swapping startup from the subpicture menu to that of the root menu, and hindering the subpicture menu from loading renders the disc unplayable.
Surely this swap can be done by changing a few of the IFO parameters? Anyone know WHICH parameters these are?
Edit: Ok, found it. Must have been snow-blind yesterday...
For anyone wondering: it's located in the VIDEO_TS.IFO -> VMGM PGCI UT -> LU_1 (language) PGC-Menu_1 -> PGC Command Table -> 1.Post Command --- entering hex: [30 06 00 01 01 83 00 00] here loads the root menu, cancelling the pesky language selection process & language specific copyright warning.
