    I use ConvertXtoDVD to make my AVis to DVDs, and i burn the video files with Nero. Everything finishes successfully. When i go to play the movie, it looks all pixeled. Hopefully you guys will know what i mean. Is there any settings i can tweak, or maybe use a different program that will do better quality? Any help would be greatly appreciated! Thank you!

    1. Test the conversion by playing back the files from your HDD. If they are clean, move on to step two

    2. Buy decent media. Most playback issues after burning come from using the cheapest crap you can find in the local bargain bin. Sometimes, however, even the good stuff may not be as compatible with your burner or player as you might like. Changing media to another quality brnad may fix the issue.

    3. Burn with a decent burning application. Personally, I believe Nero ran it's race back at version 5.5, and everything since then has been more and more bloated, and done less and less well. Try Imgburn for DVD video. It is the dogs bollocks when it comes to burning DVD video.

    If you have problems with the output of ConvertXtoDVD, try DVD Flick or FAVC.

    Also remember the golden rule of video - Garbage In = Garbage Out.

    I vote for the golden rule. You can't take a crappy looking 700MB avi file, convert it to mpeg2, and expect to get a DVD quality image equivalent to an original DVD.

    You can also save all the conversion hassle and just get a Divx certified DVD player. Then you just burn your avi files to CD/DVD as data and play them back on your TV. They will likely still look crappy, but it will save you all the time and hassle of conversion, plus the addition quality loss from converting the files to mpeg2.

    Recent editions of ConvertxtoDVD will burn the output without having to use Nero.

    You wouldn't happen to be using the old DVIXto DVD (free version) would you? It does not do as good a job of converting as the later versions.

    Use AVISynth to frameserve with Convolution3D like this example:

    AVISource("D:\Montage\Movie_1.avi")
    ConvertToYUY2() # necessary for convolution
    Convolution3D (0, 32, 128, 16, 64, 10, 0)
    Spline36Resize(640,432,0,1,352,238) # better than lanczoz or lanczoz4
    AddBorders(40,24,40,24)

    Make a good result for me
    Shine as you should !
