I don't have the fire wire cable for my SONY DCR PC 330.I never conneted this camera to my PC with the exception of downloading photos of the Sony card via USB cable.I wonder if I could download a video to my PC via the USB?I would like to try it but unfortunately I do not have any video software installed on my PC.Maybe some of you have this camera and you may know something I don't .Thank you for your help.

  2. you need winDV to transfer video from your camcorder to your computer.

you may ganna need a USB driver if your PC doesn't recognize the CAM

Firewire cables are cheap as are IEEE-1394 cards if needed. Just buy online. That is the only way to get high quality video transfer from a DV camcorder (few exceptions). If all you want is a 352x240 CIF stream over USB for the web, your manual will describe the menu settings.

WinDV is a free DV format capture utility. It results in an exact DV format copy from your DV tape.
