Hi, I have a few questions on ripping dvd's. First of all I'm using DVDFab, DVDShrink3.2 and ImgBurn to rip my dvd's. My first question is there a way to rip a dvd with any of these programs alone(besides shrink)? Second question is how do I use Shrink to edit my dvd(Its too long for my blank one, 3 hour movie)? I used Fab and ImgBurn but the movie too long. Also Fab copies the movie in Video file when IMGBurn needs it in an image so I had to make an image first right? When you try to burn the dvd in shrink it shows Nero but what if you want to use a different ripper? Sorry so many questions but I'm a newbee here, lol. I looked for guides on these but I couldn't find one with all three. Thanks for the help......

Use DVDFab DVDDecrypter to rip your DVD. Then DVDShrink to shrink to fit on a DVD5. Save output to an image file and use Imgburn to burn.

If you don't need to shrink hen you can use Imgburn to burn your rip directly to DVD. Just select build and output to DVDR.

first of all DVD SHRINK isn't a ripping tool. DVDFAB DECRYPTER is used to rip the files to your hard drive then you use DVD SHRINK to compress the files so it can fit on a single layer dvd disc. Within DVD SHRINK you can disable the burn with NERO. also within DVD SHRINK you can create a ISO image instead of the VIDEO_TS folder. although IMGBURN can burn VIDEO_TS folders as well. here's a guide on how to use DVD SHRINK. don't worry about the version that guide uses. it's basically same even with a older version of DVD SHRINK which by the way is no longer updated.

If you rip the DVD with DVDFab HD Decrypter, you should get the whole DVD. DVDFab HD is a decrypter. Nothing more. It will give you the whole disc. DVD Shrink can select just the main movie, which many times will fit on a DVD-5 disc without 'Shrinking'. If not, you will need to "Shrink' it a bit. This is the best option most times if you don't need the menus and extras. If you have a video that will lose too much quality with DVD Shrink, then you might look to DVD Rebuilder, which will encode instead of 'transcode' like Shrink does. Takes a lot longer, but better quality.

For ImgBurn, it can use a VIDEO_TS folder or a image format. Either one works the same. Use the 'Build' mode for VIDEO_TS folders.
