  1. Hello,

I've some noise on DV Footage (some noise is normal because of lack of light) but there is some grain like on vs tapes.

What filters can improve the video (avisynth if possible) ?

    Thanks.

I'm not that familiar with AVISynth, but here are a few available filters: http://avisynth.org/warpenterprises/

Mvdegrain2 located inside MVtools is great, but incredibly slow.

fft3dfilter works very well too, especially if you want to remove chroma noise - use (plane=1 or 2 for chroma)

Using reducefluctuations(limit=2) from Kassandro's ReduceFlicker plugin will calm down the image and permit you to use a less strong setting with the noise removers.

Also fast is Ttempsmooth and fluxsmooth, but it depends what your video looks like to determine if they'd be effective.

And, you can apply the noise reduction to only dark parts of the video by using this technique:

https://forum.videohelp.com/topic309181.html has some good discussion in it. I like peachsmoother and convolution3D. They are older filters, but the still work well.
