  4. i use powerdvd 4 xp, but i can see a lot of mpeg artifacts when i play a dvd. no, there isn't a problem with my 'puter. the precision of the powerdvd software mpeg2 decoder is not as high as it could be. a reference quality mpeg2 decode looks quite a bit better. try the reference mode in dvd2avi for example.

    all the software pc dvd players i've seen only seem to have integer precision.

    i just wish powerdvd would include a reference quality mode that could be switched on and off. i still recommend powerdvd 4 xp.

    just wondering...
    is there a software dvd player with a reference mpeg2 decoder and some sort of mpeg artifact reduction?
