Can a 8800GT do hardware decoding of video like the 8600 can?

It says it does on the product spec or feature sheet. but if yopu look elseware its not availible. i have read a lot about this and im gonna say it does not have it. but the GPU is fast enough to handle it with out it.

i researched this for a time and decided to get the 8600gt for that reason and it was under 100bux. and using the ntune i was able to OC it enough that it almost acts the same. the 8800 is 300ish i dont think its worth 200more for it. mine plays everygame fine and watching 1080P on my dual core AMD has a CPU usage of under 20%

The new 8800GT, released Oct. 29, has Purevideo2 acceleration like the 8500GT/8600GT. The older 8800GTS models do not (although they do have some hardware acceleration, just not as much as the others).
