Which software media players utilize the H.264 hardware decoding of the graphic card and which of them is recommended?

Media Player Classic - HomeCinema is the only free player (AFAIK) to support DXVA for H264 and VC-1.

However it works in full bitstream decoding mode only for now, so be sure to read this first about how to make it working:

Other players and codecs which can handle DXVA for H264 and VC-1 are: PowerDVD, WinDVD, Arcsoft, MainConcept, Pinnacle and maybe Nero Digital but they are not free.
