When using the simulation feature, I get an error message when it tries to go to the next chapter, reading, "Playback does not catch up," and all I can do is click OK. What does this mean and how do I fix this? This is my very first DVD creation.

i've had this problem too (it also happens in tmpgenc 4.0 xpress when editing the video) it seems to be a bug in the software and i have not seen a fix for it, however it doesn't affect the final outputted file ... to be sure output it to your hdd (ie don't select the burn option after authoring is complete) ... once authoring is finished you can test the dvd files to see if they play correctly using power dvd or any other dvd player software .... if all is well burn it to disk

Simple answer and it is not a bug, it just means that your system either isn't fast enough for playback or you imported the file directly from your DVD Drive which is slow and I really mean very very slow for access speed to edit video.

Use the source wizard to import and tell it to create a copy on your HDD for faster speed.
