I have a movie which is in two avi files & i want to join them into 1 dvd without a menu. But when i join them will the second part play smoothly after the other or will the title stop and then the film stops half way through?

    Thanks in advance

Gspot to confirm both are identical internally .

If avi and both identical > vdub append > video and audio to direct stream copy > save as new avi

    Convert and done .

We'll wait and see what info gspot reports first .

You shouldn't join. Encode each AVI to mpg separately, and bring them together at the authoring stage.
Or use convertx2dvd that works like this but is a oneclick wonder.

IIRC convertxtodvd will create 2 titles for 2 AVIs, so in this case Bjs (joining) is right on the money IMHO.
    If in doubt, Google it.

However you can set ConvertXtoDVD to play the titles sequentially, and the break will be no more intrusive than a standard layer break.

  6. I too am having the same problem with convertx to dvd.
Under settings...menus... I select 'Sequential Playback'
However, when I playback the final disc, it still stops after the first track.
What am I doing wrong ?

Bjs has the best answer - join both files using vdub or similar, so long as both parts are identical format/frame size/etc
This works 100% of the time, especially when you want to add chapters to your final DVD
When playing the final chapter of part1 you cannot jump to chapter1 on part2 - you must allow part1 to finish.
I gave up using "sequential" because the pauses between parts became too much to bear, and joining only adds about 5 minutes to the total process time anyway.
    Don't worry.......we'll be alright...

You could stop downloading split files instead
