    HI,

Ok, I have an mkv file that I eventually want to turn into a vob. First I extracted the mkv, and I got a h264 video file, 2 aac audios, and one srt for the audio2.aac. When I put the video and both audios in the fields to be muxed...and mux them using "mux as avi+audio", I get that insta-finish which means it didn't actually work, and a very small log that basically just says the audio3.aac is an unknown format. I've played this audio3.aac in vlc to test it, and it's the English audio track, works just fine. Do I have to somehow change the aac into something else (and if so how), or is something else wrong here?

    thnx

I think this AVI muxer wants mp3 or ac3 audio,
as indicated by the corresponding item on the Tools page.

Hmmm, I noticed it also makes no mention of being able to mux an h264 file.
In any case, I decided to just go back to the original mkv (before extracting) and converting that to an avi, it's processing that. If I wanted to turn this into a vob, would I go with the MPEG2-FFmpeg?

    EDIT

Well, the processing of the mkv failed at 12%, had a ridiculous amount of decoding errors.

I don't quite understand this whole converting process, I just wanted to turn an mkv into a vob, but it seems easier said than done.

ok, I installed perian. He said to "decode with quicktime", but no such setting exists on my ffmpeg. He didn't really give any explanation on how he used perian to change the mkv into an avi, and the perian website only says it's for quicktime components so you can watch more movie types in quicktime.

It's a checkbox in the Options tab.

I guess I use ffmpegx too often, so it seems easy to me. I will put some more details into the original thread.
